Domestic help alleges torture by Sasikala Pushpa

Chennai, Aug 9: The controversial AIADMK leader Sasikala Pushpa is in news yet again for the wrong reasons. Expelled by the AIADMK on charges of anti-party activities, Pushpa is now alleged to have tortured her maid.

In fact, a sexual harassment complaint was lodged against her with the Thoothukudi police by Sasikala Pushpa's domestic help.

The 20-year old girl clearly stated in her complaint that she was sexually assaulted by Sasikala's son Pradeep Raja and husband Lingeswara Thilagam. She also alleged that she was threatened of dire consequences if she revealed anything to anyone. Some media reports state that her sister was also victim to the torture and the sexual advances by the men in the household.

The girl was working as a domestic help at the MP's Thoothukudi residence. Unable to bear the torture, she also tried to escape from the house, but was caught. The family then assaulted her and forced her to shave her head as punishment and made her sign a blank paper.

Late last month, Sasikala Pushpa had slapped a DMK leader in public, which drew media attention and raved up a controversy in the Parliament.
