The Base Movement

Soon after the blast outside Mysuru, the police started studying the similarities between the other blasts. The police learnt that the blast could have been the handiwork of a group called the Base Movement. The police had found a letter signed by the Base Movement with a photograph of Osama Bin Laden outside the court at Kollam and Chittoor. However no such letter was found outside the Mysuru court. The Base Movement is not a new outfit. In fact it was the al-Ummah which changed its name as the heat on it was getting high. The al-Ummah has been a radical outfit targeting Hindu leaders. It was also responsible for the blast outside the BJP office in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.
