Media shocker: Chennai-based English newspaper skips Jayalalithaa's verdict on front page
The moment AIADMK Jayalalithaa was pronounced guilty by the Bangalore Sessions Court and was sent to 4 years jail along-with the imposition of Rs 100 crore, the Indian news channels briefly shifted focus from Modi coverage to Jayalalithha's shocking verdict.
The print media had to wait for Sunday to come up with the cheesy headlines on Jaya's verdict for their front pages.
But, shockingly, a Chennai-based Englidh Newspaper, The New Indian Express chose not to publish the state's CM verdict on its front page.
The daily carried the Jayalaithaa's story on Page 4 of its Chennai edition and that too of the news agency PTI copy.
The other two news related to Jaya case were- self-immolation of an AIADMK worker following the verdict and on the sporadic protests across Tamil Nadu.
However, the other major newspapers published Jayalalithaa's story as the lead one along with many related stories from her life journey and her political career.
