Mysore Dussehra Special: SPI techies snub blazing Sun to help thirsty people with water

Mysore, Oct 13: They don't only sit in front of computer and write programmes. They don't only understand the language of difficult codes. But, they also think about society and they indeed come forward to help people as well. Yes, we are talking about engineers who are popularly known as techies.

Software Paradigms Infotech Pvt Ltd (SPI) is one among those software companies which take up several causes to help the society. This time SPI provided drinking water to all artists and policemen who participated in Dussehra procession in Mysore.

On the day of the Jamboo Savari, more than one hundred employees of the company braved the blazing sun to provide drinking water during the Dussehra procession.

Not only drinking water but SPI techies also provided snacks to people

Ten kiosks were set up on the entire route of the procession from KR Circle to Bannimantap and ten more kiosks were set up inside Bannimantap stadium to distribute water to the artists and policemen on duty. Not only drinking water but the techies also provided snacks to the artists and cops who took part in several programmes and security arrangement for Dussehra respectively.

This was the second consecutive year that SPI volunteered for this cause. In addition to this, SPI gave snack boxes to the participants of the Torch Light parade from Mahajana College on all the twelve days of their rehearsal.

Speaking about their decision of helping people on Dussehra, Sophie Mookerji, Chairperson and Co Founder of SPI, said, "We feel privileged to contribute in a small way towards the Mysore Dussehra event."

"We thank the Police Commissioner of Mysore Dr MA Saleem for providing SPI an opportunity to serve during the procession and the parade. We also appreciate all the support provided to us by Police Inspector Jagadish of City Crime Branch and Police Inspector Raju GC of Mandakalli Airport Police Station," he added.

Continuing her statement, she also said, "The policemen and the participants were so grateful for the water that they kept repeatedly blessing our volunteers. The Police Commissioner also appreciated our efforts during this event. Our volunteers made sure that the artists and policemen could comfortably pursue their duties without exhaustion."
