Ashok Vemuri, the new iGate CEO
Bangalore, Sept 12: iGate is all set to welcome its new CEO and President, Ashok Vemuri on September 16.

Ashok Vemuri, former global head of manufacturing and engineering at Infosys, will join the company and its board on Monday.

iGate had earlier fired its CEO, Phaneesh Murthy, who was involved in a sexual harassment case after a subordinated employee levied charges of the same on him.

iGate officials said that Gehard Watzinger, who assumed the role of interim president and CEO after Murthy was fired, will remain with the company playing an advisory role temporarily to assist with Vermuri's transition.

Vermuri, who had quit Infosys, had established the former comapny's financial services and insurance. He had also served as the Chairman of Infosys' China operations.

Vermuri was optimistic about his new role as he said that "iGate has great market oppurtunity right now because of the success of its business outcomes- based model and also the company's ability to deliver excellent solutions across various markets," he said.
