MP shocker: Woman stripped, forced to consume urine
Bhopal, Sept 2: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old woman was stripped and forced to consume urine by one of her neighbour, Vijay Yadav and his wife in Mudwara village of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh.
The victim along with her dalit community members on Tuesday, Sept 1 met Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chhatarpur, Neeraj Pandey, and lodged a complaint while accusing local police of not taking action against the couple for their insane act.
In her police complaint, she said that few months back, she was given a piece of land by the state government as "Patta" which was earlier in control of Vijay Yadav.
In anger of land dispute, Yadav had damaged her crops by releasing cattle on her land and when she went to Yadav house to oppose, then Vimla, Yadav's wife beaten her with a lathi (stick).
The incident occured on Monday, Aug 24 at Mudwara village which comes under Nowgong police station. A complaint was registered under section 394, 323, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of SC/ST act, against the accused couple.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of police (SP), Chhatarpur, Lalit Shakyawar claimed that "a case was registered by local police station on the basis of her complaint, but she has not informed police about such incident while registering a complaint.
He also added that "he has already informed the Sub Divisional officer to look into the incident further".
"The accused couple went missing from the village, after the police registered a complaint", the officer concluded.
While reacting on the incident Congress spokeperson, Shobha Oza said that "MP Government is so insensitive towards women that such incidents occur and recur,it's shameful."
