Addressing a gathering of BJP workers, State President B S Yeddyurappa condemned the recent killings of BJP and RSS workers accusing the congress government of allowing such incidents. "It is a disturbing trend. I am meeting Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday and will appraise him about the State's situation and opposition to Tipu Jayanthi. State BJP will discuss about giving a statewide bandh call on November 10. We will display black flags and observe it as black day", he said.

Hundreds of party workers gathered shouting slogans against the government for celebrating Tipu Jayanthi on November 10. Leaders of the BJP accused the Congress government's move of celebrating Tipu as mere appeasement politics. BJP leader and Former Minister R Ashoka said, "Tipu has become a nemesis for those who celebrated him. Siddaramaiah will face the same fate. Celebrating Tipu is nothing but appeasement politics".
