Speeding school van packed with 25 kids kills pedestrian
Bangalore, Sep 30: A speeding school van packed with 25 kids killed a pedestrian here on Tuesday, Sep 29. The children of LKG, UKG and 1st standard had a hair breadth escape from negligence driving.

filed
against
the
driver
and
Narayana
ETechno
School
authorities,
who
are
the
owners
of
the
van.
The
incident
happened
on
Tuesaday
morning
on
Hennur
Main
Road.
The deceased identified as Soukath is a daily labourer. Another labourer named Nayaf Ali is admitted in Bowring Hospital and is undergoing treatment for fractured leg.
The witnesses of the accident said that the driver was drunk and was rash driving. But the medical test conducted proved that driver was sober.
According to police, the van picked the kids from Kothanur and Hennur and was heading to Geddadhahalli village at the time of accident. The driver lost the control of the vehicle and crashed into the left-side of the pavement. The van hit a sign board, light poles and hammered two pedestrians. The bus came to a halt after hitting the rolling shutters of a shop.
The deceased was taken to NIMHANS after sustaining serious head injuries. Apart from the labourers, the students also sustained injuries.
A case has been charged against the school owner for allowing the driver to drive the vehicle without a valid license. Another case was registered against the driver for negligence driving.
