Prof Kalburgi murder: Is this the mastermind?

Bengaluru, Sept 18: The police are on the look out for one Rudra Patil who is alleged to have executed the killing of Professor M M Kalburgi, Govind Pansare and Narendra Dhabholkar. All three persons considered to be rationalists were murdered.

The Karnataka CID has launched a manhunt of Patil who is also wanted by both the Central Bureau of Investigation and the National Investigation Agency.

The ongoing investigations into the three murders being conducted by the Maharashtra and Karnataka police had led to the arrests of several persons.

During the interrogations one of the accused confessed to the role played by Patil in all the three cases.

CID sources tell OneIndia that the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Wing had shared information with them that Patil was present in Belagavi at the time of the murder of Kalburgi.

The Maharashtra Cyber Crime Wing confirmed the presence of Patil in Belgavi at the time of the murder.

Earlier one of the accused in the case, Sameer had confessed to the police that the three operations were overseen by Rudra Patil.

Patil is wanted both by the CBI and the NIA. The CBI list of most wanted describes him as a 32 year old man hailing from Sangli in Maharashtra.

The CBI also states that he is wanted for offences involving the use of weapons and explosives. The NIA in its list of most wanted says that an Red Corner Notice has been issued against him.

The NIA has listed his address as Saham Mobile Shopee, Panchmukhi, Maruti Road, Gaonbhag, Sangli, Maharashtra and Flat No. 8, Dattakrupa Appartment, Joshi Gali, Gaonbhang, Sangli Maharashtra.
