Pay more for your next autorickshaw ride in Bangalore
Agreeing to the demands of major unions, the deputy commissioner's office of Bangalore has agreed to hike the tariff. For the first two kilometers passengers will have to pay Rs 25 and Rs 13 per kilometer for every additional kilometer.
The revised tariff will come into effect from December 20.

Costly fuel price, liabilities with respect to the vehicle maintenance urged the unions to demand the hike.
"Though we had requested for Rs 30 as base tariff and Rs 15 as per km, the regional transport authority has come out with a base tariff and we are satisfied with it," said members of the auto drivers union.
While many unions seemed satisfied with the decision, the common man, mostly who depend on public transport, are likely to take a big hit and opt for alternate means of transportation.
The last hike in auto fares was almost 18 months back.
