Congress is a burden for India, get rid of it: Narendra Modi

Bangalore, Feb 28: Calling a

a "burden for India", Modi asserted that Congress cannot execute any plan which can take the nation forward, rather the country going backward under UPA rule.

He also urged people to vote out Congress in upcoming Lok Sabha election which is due by May 2014. He also vowed to fulfil the promises made by his party. He also claimed that Indians cannot get rid of price rise, corruption unless untill the country get rid of Congress.

After addressing a rally in Gulbarga, Modi addressed a rally in Hubli.

Here are the highlights from the rally at Hubli-

Modi said that where ever his eyes went he could see only a saffron wave. "It is a privilege to see such a view," he said. He said that these days there was a storm in the country, even before the election dates were announced. "By the time the dates are announced this storm will turn into a tsunami.

This election is being fought by each and every citizen of the country," he said.

Political pundits are scampering to calculate the politics. "Elections can't be fought with arithmetic. This election is full of chemistry. These elections are going to give a new hope to the people. You cannot underestimate the power of these elections.

There are such incidents taking place that restore our belief in democracy. It is the power of our country's democracy that a small boy who used to sell tea in a railway compartment is fighting elections," he said.

"I was also born in poverty, a small simple person. You have given me so much of love that I want to rid you away of your difficulties and sadness. This is my dream," he said.

Narendra Modi attacks Congress party

Making an attack on Congress, Modi said that the people wanted a sevak instead of a ruler in the country.

"These 60 years won't return back. Do you want to waste any more time? Give me 60 months time and I assure you that I their 60 years will be equivalent to our 60 months. The country is fed up of false promises. Their leaders are talking in their rallies as if they are from Mars," he said.

Addressing the rally Modi said that the women were safest during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the PM. "Crimes are happening right under the nose of Madam Sonia Gandhi," he said.

Mocking the Congress party, Modi said that Congress party workers had gone to Delhi recently to see their PM nominee, but returned with 3 gas cylinders.

Modi lays emphasis on agriculture

"We need to lay our priorities on the infrastructure in the agriculture sector. We need to increase our exports. We need to bring three fold change. Farming, animal husbandry, and timber growth at the edge of farm land. Farmers will prosper," he said.

Modi ignites Telangana row, promises to visit Andhra soon:
Addressing the Telugu speaking people in Gulbarga, Karnataka, Modi ignited the Telangana row. He slammed the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and other leaders for Andhra Pradesh bifurcation.
"It is due to Congress that Telangana was not made all this while. So many people gave their lives for it & I bow to them. Congress knows it won't get anything it Seemandhra so they have left the region to itself," said Modi.

He also promised to visit Andhra Pradesh soon. He was quoted as saying, "I will try to go to Seemandhra as soon as possible and share the pain of the people. No stone will be left unturned to mitigate their pain."

Why Congress can't be save now, explains Narendra Modi:
Sharping his attack against Congress, Modi asserted that Congress is accused of destroying the country and now the party cannot be save ahead of the Lok Sabha election due by May 2014.

Don't believe the words of the Congress leaders. If they would have worked for the people of the country, situation would have been different now," claimed the Gujarat CM amid "Modi-Modi" chants.

Modi arrives at Gulbarga, shares dais with Yeddyurappa:
Narendra Modi arrived at the rally venue in Gulbarga. He shared the dais with BJP leader Ananth Kumar, BS Yeddyurappa, Venkaiah Naidu and many others. However, Rajnath Singh did not come to the rally.

Modi began his speech addressing the crowd speaking in Kannada.

Narendra Modi to reach Gulbarga, Karnataka shortly:
Narendra Modi is expected to reach Gulbarga shortly. He will address a mega rally in the district of Karnataka on Friday, Feb 28. Later in the evening he will address another rally in Hubli.

Security has been beefed up at the venue -- Atal Bihari Vajpayee Layout and surrounding areas of the city. Karnataka is a crucial state for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for upcoming general election which due by May 2014.

Recently, a TV news channel survey predicted that BJP, led by Modi, will win 11 seats, Congress 14, JD-S 2 and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) 1 in Karnataka. The southern state send 28 MPs to Lok Sabha.
