Karnataka: This minister travels 300 km everyday to office
Bengaluru, July 5: Karnataka Minister HD Revanna, the son of former PM HD Deve Gowda, made headlines in local papers for a reason which took everyone by surprise in the state.
Little did everyone knows that since he became a minister in the Congress-JDS coalition government is travelling more than 300 kms each day from Holenarasipura (his constituency) to Vidhan Souda in Bengaluru.
Revanna, elder brother of CM HD Kumaraswamy, is well known for his unwavering belief in astrology and Vaastu. This is led to speculate that on the advice of astrologers Revanna might have been travelling to his constituency every day, though he could afford a residence in the capital city.
Asked Revanna about his arduous journey to Bengaluru everyday, he said, " Don't have any astrologer who has me told me this. I'm waiting for a house to be allotted that's why I am travelling this distance to work every day."
Revanna was elected from Holenarasipura for the fifth term. He defeated Congress candidate Manjegowda BP by a margin of 43832 votes in the recently concluded assembly elections.
