Language became the bond

Subhani says that he found it difficult to converse with others in Iraq. This was due to a language problem. "However, when I met Ghani, I was able to converse with him as we spoke similar languages," he said. Subhani, however, does not reveal much about Ghani's role in the 26/11 attack.

He also points out that the Indians and Pakistanis were treated in a similar way by the ISIS. Subhani says that the foreign fighters were given priority. They would have free access to gyms, swimming pools and cyber cafes. "However for us, the rules were different and we were not even allowed to roam around freely," he says during his interrogation.

He also goes on to state that the foreign fighters were in a different camp. "There were 150 of them. The first priority to fight was given to them. For us it was different. All of us underwent training, but were not allowed to fight. When we would ask them, they would only say, " when the time comes," he adds.
