Bangalore, Feb 11: Karnataka's former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's staunch follower and ex BJP minister Shobha Karandlaje too wants to contest from Bangalore North Lok Sabha seat.

Fight for the Bangalore North constituency is still on as the ex Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda and ex Home Minister and local leader R Ashok have already shown keen interest to contest from the same constituency.

Shobha Karandlaje has been included in BJP's 23-member state election committee.

Names of BJP MLA Ashwathnarayan and former MLA Nandish Reddy are also doing the rounds for the Bangalore North Lok Sabha seat.

After inaugurating the BJP women's wing special meeting at the party office on Monday, Karandlaje told a daily, "I have asked the party to consider my candidature for Bangalore North, if both Ashoka and Gowda decline to contest. I was the MLA of Yeshwnathpur assembly segment, which falls under the Bangalore North LS constituency."

On being asked that her candidature was being considered, she said, "I have already told the party that I cannot contest from Udupi-Chikmagalur or Mysore. If my name is not considered for Bangalore North, I will not contest the elections for other two constituencies."
