Bengaluru says cheers as nightlife deadline extended till 1am
Bengaluru, July 16: Bengalureans have a reason to cheer and party as the nightlife deadline in the city was extended to 1am on all days starting from Thursday.
The decision was taken by the Karnataka Government after several deliberations and on Thursday, the Excise Commissioner in a statement said that all hotels, bars and eateries could remain open till 1 am.
Prior to this, pubs could only stay open till 11pm on weekdays following. However, a 1am deadline on Saturdays and Sundays was put in place on an experimental basis.
On Friday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took to Twitter and said: "Restaurants and bars permitted to stay open till 1am in Bengaluru. Hope citizens enjoy the extended hours responsibly."

Though there was no deadline set for the same, the deadline was implemented since Thursday unitl further notice.
