Bengaluru, July 28: A 31-year old Tanzanian man was arrested by the police from the Bengaluru Central Division, bringing an end to a notorious gang of robbers. The gang came to the limelight after they committed theft at the house of a former MLA, Mr Venkatashiva Reddy, in Sadashivanagar on June 12 when the entire family went of a trip.

The gang stole gold ornaments and cash prize worth Rs 45-50 lakhs.

A resident of Muninanjappa Layout in Kothanur, Paul Cole is the prime accused in the gang, while the police is still on the lookout for four others- Francine Ivelis Brain, Subrino, Tebol and Pedro- who are suspected to be from Brazil or Mexico.

Cole, also a student of BCA in St Hopkin's College in Bannerghatta Road, is alleged to have used fake umber plates while committing the crime. The gang is known to target empty houses.

MLA Reddy and his family had gone out of the city when the incident happened. On returning late on Sunday night, the family found that the house was ransacked. The gang is also said to print fake credit and debit cards. In fact, card-making machines have also been found in Cole's house.
