Bengaluru, July 26: Bengaluru has finally found hope when it comes to bad roads. Bengaluru mayor B.N. Manjunatha Reddy, disgruntled at the condition of the roads, warned area engineers of dire consequences if they were not repaired immediately.

The Mayor went on a surprise inspection in the Nayandahalli area, after numerous complaints from the people. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor S.P. Hemalatha, ruling party leader R.S. Sathyanarayan and the joint commissioner of Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone.

He was angry at the potholes and the ill-maintained roads on Magadi Road and quashed the engineers for not filling them. He said that the roads were constructed by the BDA and then handed over to BBMP for maintenance. The BDA had, in fact, given permission to the BBMP to remove weeds from the side of the roads. But nothing was done.

He also saw water seeping from the Nayandahalli BDA flyover and complained the lack of attention being paid by the engineers. He further added that he would write to the government for repairing it at the earliest. He also assured that the Palike will give sufficient funds for development of roads to ensure a hassle-free driving.
