Bengaluru: Commuters shocked to find crocodile on the road
Bengaluru, June 19: Commuters were in for a rude shock on Thursday when they found a fully grown crocodile in the middle of the Sulthanpalya main road in north Bengaluru.
The crocodile was seen in the middle of the road even as passerbys gasped in horror. However they soon realised that the crocodile was a fake and that it was the genius idea of artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, to protest against the BBMP to improve the condition of the roads in the city.
Bengaluru is known for its deadly roads and potholes and the condition just gets worse during monsoon season. Despite repeated complaints, BBMP has failed to fix the roads in the city.
Fed up with this attitude of the BBMP, Nanjundaswamy place the 20-kg crocodile across a 12-foot long pothole and painted the pothole green giving it a realistic feeling.
This is however not the first time that Nanjundaswamy has taken such a step. On a previous occassion, Nanjundaswamy had painted the face of 'Yamaraj' over a huge manhole thereby drawing attemtion of the local authorities, who fixed the the manhole the very next day.
