Bengaluru: 20,000 Uber drivers go on strike today over incentives

Bengaluru, Sept 24: A day after a protest led by the Manjunath S, an Uber driver along with 300 more drivers on Wednesday Sept 23, at MG Road Office, today all drivers are going to mobilize 20,000 drivers and stop cab services on Thursday, Sept 24.

As per a report published in TOI, Manjunath S left his previous job in Transportation and Logistic company and joined Uber after seeing an advertisement which displayed an attractive income of Rs 90,000 per month.

Disappointed Uber drivers have alleged that they are not getting their incentives which was promised by the company earlier. The drivers will also hold protest at HSR layout office.

Meanwhile, Manjunath said, "I bought a new car and I have to pay my loan. Earlier, company said that they will pay Rs 100 at per trip but if we don't complete the target of 13 trips per day, then we get nothing."

He also added that "the company blocks our mobile phone if any customer complaints against our service."

Another driver Swamy DP said that "the company does not listen our words if we have any problem. He also said that even we are not allowed to park our vehicles at MG Road office."

On the other hand, Uber spokesperson said that "most of the drivers are happy with our incentive facility.We are also concerned about the problems which they face everyday and we even find solutions for their problems on regular basis."
