To deal with cow smugglers, this BJP MLA proposes a new methodology

Jaipur, July 31: The Union Government is working on a law to deal with incidents of lynchings. But a BJP MLA from Rajasthan has a different idea in mind. He feels that cow smugglers, when caught should be slapped a few times, tied to a tree and then the police should be informed.

This suggestion was made by BJP, MLA, Gyan Dev Ahuja. Speaking to reporters at Alwar, Ahuja said, "Thoda bahut isliye, pakda hai to do-chaar thappad mukka karke unko ped se baandh do, aur police ko suchana de do (If they are caught, give them a few slaps and punches, tie them to a tree and inform the police)."

The presser was held after he visited Lalawandi, the village where Rakbar was allegedly lynched on July 20. He later clarified by saying that what he meant was people should not take law into their hands.

He told the Indian Express that the three people arrested in the Rakbar murder case were innocent and have been framed by the police. "People from my constituency have told me that the men who have been arrested were called to the spot and were told by the police that they were needed for registering an FIR against Rakbar and his accomplices. Later, the policemen framed these innocent men. It is clear that Rakbar died after he was tortured at the police station," Ahuja also sad.

He also demanded that the three men arrested be released immediately and a case of cow smuggling be registered against Rakbar and Aslam, the two men who were attacked.
