Police turn robbers, loot Rs 40,000 from toll plaza at Delhi

In Agra, the police decided to turn robbers. A toll plaza was robbed of Rs 40,000 allegedly by policemen. The authorities at the toll plaza on the Agra-Delhi highway filed a complaint against six police personnel for allegedly manhandling them and robbing Rs 40,000.

In his complaint the assistant manager of the toll plazas, O Yadav said that "Six policemen, including the circle officer of Refinery circle Nitin Singh, came to the plaza on the intervening night of August 22 and 23 and looted the cash after assaulting the staff."

He also submitted CCTV footage of the incident as proof.

The police are alleged to have arrived at then plaza in an SUC and entered lane 13 which is meant for fast lane tag vehicles. Since the vehicle did not have a fast lane tag, the barrier went down and blocked the vehicle's exit.

The police then started threatening the staff following which an argument took place. The CO, Nitin Singh however denied the allegations and said that he was on duty when he was approached by three people who complained about excess toll being charged.
