Blue whale challenge used to encourage youngsters to join certain online groups which would be run by 'curators'. These curators would gather personal information of players and later hand over 50 tasks which include waking up at odd times in the wee hours, watching horror movies alone, listening to deep breathing sounds and causing bodily harm like making cuts and incisions initially. According to reports, the 'Momo Challenge' game starts on WhatsApp by displaying a girl's distorted face that looks extremely disturbing with bulging eyes and a wide mouth. The image of the girl is a creation of Japanese artist Midori Hayashi, who is not associated with the game in any way, reports thesun.co.uk.
