The investigating team with inputs received through the course of questioning and statements from a Hawala operator are attempting to trace the course of illegal money that was allegedly given by Dinakaran to middleman Sukesh Chandrasekar to receive a favourable verdict from the EC over the 'two leaves' symbol row.

Merger on track

Meanwhile, both factions of the AIADMK are on the verge of stitching up a merger. With most concerns already addressed, the issue of chief minister and general secretary posts are being discussed between both camps. Both camps are reaching the stage of consolidation of consensus. Post the arrest of Dinakaran the Panneerselvam camp has become more confident of the merger. However, differences over cabinet posts and dual leadership continue to bother the merger talks.
