The police received a call around 5pm, according to reports by news agency Xinhua that cited local broadcaster Europe1. The famous tourist destinations sees thousands of visitors coming in daily to see the iconic structure. Around 2000 visitors were evacuated from the 324-metre-tall tower. After thorough checking, the police did not find any explosive materials. Paris, Dec 10: The iconic edifice, Eiffel Tower was evacuated after a bomb scare. The authorities evacuated the tower and the surrounding areas in Paris when an anonymous caller warned of a bomb placed nearby the Eiffel Tower premises. The caller claimed to be a member of the terror group, Al-Qaeda.
