Bangalore, Dec 7: Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said road connectivity to the Devanahalli International Airport near here will be completed by March 30 next year when the airport will be inaugurated.
Addressing newspersons after the executive committee meeting here today he said there would be no further extention on the opening of the International Airport on that day.
Discussion on completion of the Airport was the major item in today's meeting attended by his three advisors and the government would set up a 'reasonable' road connecivity to the airport by then.
The new airport would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The meeting also discussed in details on the proposals of setting up of a high speed rail link between the city the airport, he said.
He said Transport and Home departments had been asked to conduct to a feasibility study and impact on the city traffic for taking up the rail link.
He would also meet Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director Sreedharan on December 15 in the city this regard.
The committee had decided to set up a Single Window system for the ex-servicemen to attend to their issues, the Governor said.
The new system, which would be set up at the district head quarters besides at the state capital would be functional in a month, he said.
Special Officers would also be appointed at department level to monitor the implementation of the welfare schemes meant for the ex-servicemen, he said.
The executive committee also has asked for a study on the setting up a new Railway station at a 40-acres of land of belonging to NGEF at Byyappanahalli to decongest the existing city Railway station, he said.
The commitee took a decision to set up a Karnataka Municapal Data Corporation to implement the e-governance scheme in the remaining for the remaining municipal bodies.
Already 57 municipal bodies have been covered in the first phase, he said.
UNI
