Nagarjuna, 54, said after the meeting that he shared his ideas with Modi and also lauded the latter's focus on sustainable and self-sufficient development. He also said that Modi will become the next prime minister, although didn't confirm whether he will join the BJP. Sources, however, said that Chiranjeevi wanted to field his wife Amala, a former actor, in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Nagarjuna praised Modi's views on sustainable and self-sufficient development
A few days ago, Pawan Kalyan, brother of Union Congress minister K Chiranjeevi, also a former actor, met Modi after launching his own party called Jana Sena in Hyderabad. He slammed the central government led by the Congress over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and vowed to work against it. Chiranjeevi later took a dig at his brother for meeting Modi.
The meetings between Modi and some of the filmstars from Andhra Pradesh signal at the BJP's aim on winning as many friends in the southern state as possible. Last August when Modi visted Hyderabad to address a rally, a number of personalities from the Telugu film world had met him.
