Gujarat: After two decades, schools, colleges to get 9-day Navratri vacation
Gandhinagar, July 29: The Gujarat government on Saturday announced to give a 9-day vacation to school and college students during this Navratri. The decision will be implemented across all boards in schools and colleges in Gujarat.
Minister of State for Education (Primary and Higher Education) and Pilgrimage, Vibhavariben Dave said that Navratri and garba were the 'cultural identity' of Gujarat and the state's youth should be allowed to participate in the festivities freely without having to think about schools and colleges the very next day.
She added, "CM Vijay Rupani and Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama along with me have decided to allow official holidays during Navratri so that the youths and children participate in the celebrations in a much relaxed manner."
It is after two decades that the Gujarat government has announced to give official vacation in schools and colleges of the state on the occasion of Navratri.
