New Delhi, Sept 02: It's a fact that besides one of the best educational universities, Delhi University (DU) is also known for its latest fashion trends.

The girl students of the DU have their own unique style of dressing.

But here's the catch! The third edition of a week-long educational train journey for Delhi University students that begins on Monday, contains a big list of dos and don'ts.

The DU administration wants girls and boys to wear 'decent' clothes to avoid any untoward incident during the trip.

According to a report, the University has laid out a code of conduct that instructs students to ‘strictly adhere' to the dress code.

Girls have been told not to wear skirts, shorts or spaghetti tops and boys have been told not to wear shorts or sleeveless T-shirts.

DU officials said that the step has been taken to ensure girls' safety.

"We have taken a precautionary measure as students may have to interact with all kinds of people on the journey. There are students from the UK as well and we will be responsible if something untoward happens", said CS Dubey, chairperson, core committee, Gyanodaya Education Trip.

This year, 900 university students are taking the journey that will go on till September 8.

The Gyanodaya III train journey is undertaken every year as "College on wheels".

DU officials said that the step has been taken to ensure girls' safety.

Among the travellers, 150 students are from Edinburgh and London, a statement said. The train with library and Internet-enabled coaches will be flagged off from the capital and move towards Punjab.

During the educational trip, students will visit Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Jalandhar and Kurukshetra.
