Dabholkar's killers still on the loose
Pune, Aug 31: Even after questioning 1,500 people, acquiring data from 8 crore- phone calls and footage from 110- CCTV cameras, the Pune police remains clueless about the killers of slain activist Narendra Dabholkar.

Its been 10-days since Dabholkar was killed and the police are not even close to identifying the culprits or even the motive behind the killing. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday said that it was a matter of shame for the PUne police or even the state as there is no solid breakthrough in the case even after ten days of his murder.

"It was a cowardly act and people are counting on the police force to nab the culprits," Pawar said. He also added that he had called senior police officers on Friday and had asked them to increase the squads if necessary for the case.

10-days on, Dabholkar's killers on the run

Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol earlier had said that Dabholkar's murder was a planned one and a 'contract-killing.'The police have been questioning many criminals from Pune and outside the city in connection with the case and even some radical Hindu organisations who were against Dabholkar and his ideologies.

Dabholkar was shot dead by unidentified assailants on August 20 when he out for his morning walk. He was actively involved in a campaign to eradicate superstition and black- magic practices related to it from the state. He was the prime force behind the anti- superstition bill.
