Hyderabad, Aug 22: On the festival of Raksha Bandhan, many women supporters of YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Wednesday thronged to the Chanchalguda jail to tie "rakhi" (a sacred thread) on his wrist, but sadly, the 'sisters' were denied entry by the jail officials.

After being stopped at the main gate, 'disappointed' sisters staged a dharna demanding to be allowed to go inside the jail to tie him rakhi.

They even requested at least any one of them should be allowed entry to meet him.

As their demand was refused, they shouted slogans and then tied a rakhi on photos of Jagan Mohan Reddy that they had brought along.

Strangely, the prison authorities allowed students from a college and five different schools to tie rakhi to other prisoners.

However, Jagan's sister Y S Sharmila and her husband Anil Kumar were allowed to meet him. Later, his wife Y S Bharathi and their two daughters also visited him.

After meeting and tying rakhi to Jagan, his sister Sharmila spoke to women who could not tie rakhi at Jagan's wrist.

This is the second year when Sharmila tied Rakhi to Jagan in jail.

Kadapa MP Jagan was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Disproportionate Assets case.
