Heavy rains in several parts of India, barring N.West and West India
Bangalore, Aug 19: Rain and thundershowers have occurred in many parts of the country, including Jammu & Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim and along the west coast.
Some of the other places to have received heavy rainfall include Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, west Assam, Vidarbha, Telangana and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
A few places over Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra and south Andhra Pradesh and isolated places over south Gujarat, Bihar, Marathawada and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are some of the other places where there was heavy rainfall. Otherwise, weather remained dry over the rest of the country.
Weather conditions would remain the same in the above-mentioned areas in the next few days. However, there would be reduced monsoon activity over the northwest and western India and south peninsula.
