Delhi next on LeT radar? IB raises alarm after Saeed's threat
New Delhi, Aug 9: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has raised an alarm about a possible terror attack here, reports said on Friday. The local police have been alerted.
The IB has informed the police of the speech made by Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the Pakistan-based founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, accused of masterminding the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
Saeed has reportedly threatened to attack Red Fort, one of Delhi's famous monuments and hosts the prime minister every year on Augut 15 on the occasion of the independence day.
Saeed was present at the Eid prayers at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium and had reportedly tweeted Eid greetings with an anti-India message before leading the prayers.
India and Pakistan are witnessing a tense phase in their bilateral relations following the death of five Indian soldiers along the Line of Control by Pakistani troops earlier this week.
