US: Parents' 'best man' baby dies of cancer

Washington, Aug 7: He came in this world for a short span of time, but received love from all across the world. The two-year-old toddler, Logan Stevenson, who served as the best man at his parents' wedding last week, died of cancer, on Tuesday.

Stevenson was born with a rare genetic disorder, Fanconi anaemia that often leads to cancer.

His mother Christine Swidorsky Stevenson said in a post on her Facebook page, "I held him all day he was comfortable with his medication then at 8:18 my son took his last breath in my arms Logan passed away. I am so sad, upset and I am in disbelief he is with angels and he's in no more pain."

She was quoted as saying by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "No more sickness no more hospitals. We love all of u for all your prayers thank u all for caring god bless u all! And most of all god bless Logan I'll c u in my dreams my son."

Logan's parents, Christine and Sean Stevenson tied knot on August 3 in Jeannette, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after doctors treating him confirmed that he has got one or two weeks left to live.

So, his parents moved up the date of their wedding to ensure he would be alive to see them getting married.

As best man at his parent' wedding, Logan was dressed in a cream-coloured pinstripe suit and orange shirt for Saturday's 12-minute ceremony, while his bride mother carried him down the aisle.

Soon after his birthday, Logan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and other complications.

Logan has been in and out of hospitals since he was born on October 22, 2010, weighing just 3 pounds. He had also lost a kidney to a tumour.

Logan lost his once big and beautiful curls due to cancer. His story was picked up across the world.
