Three killed in shooting in quiet Pennsylvania township
Philadelphia, Aug 6: Three persons were killed while several were injured in a shooting at a meeting of the town supervisors in Ross Township building in Saylorsburg in eastern Pennsylvania, about 75 miles north of Philadelphia, on Monday night.

said
that
four
were
killed
in
the
shooting
but
later
revised
the
number.
The
suspect
was
identified
as
Rockne
Newell
of
Saylorsburg.
He
was
also
shot
and
was
admitted
to
a
hospital.
Police
said
they
are
yet
to
confirm
how
he
was
shot.
Police said Newell had a long dispute with officials over condemnation of his property and matters related with his sewer.
Authorities said the Ross Township's three-member Board of Supervisors meets on the first Monday night of every month at the township's municipal building. They said the township is the quietest in Monroe County with hardly any controversy ever popping up. It is also the only township that had not increased its taxes in several years.
