Mumbai, July 6: Domestic violence in India has not spared even the known and the very well-known. A year or so earlier, it was Shweta Tiwari domestic violence case that was hitting the top headlines and now it is former Miss World Yukta Mookhey.

While there have been sevaral earlier incidences of domestic violence in her case, here is another one. Recently, she lodged an FIR with the police against her husband Prince Tuli, who is a New York-based businessman and a consultant.

"In her complaint, Ms Mookhey alleged she had often been beaten up and troubled by her husband Prince Tuli. An FIR has been registered under Section 498A (cruelty and harassment) and Section 377 (unnatural sex) of Indian Penal Code after her complaint yesterday," said an oficer at Amboli police station.

Post her complaint, she was examined medically; however, no arrets have been made yet. A number of non-cognisable offences have already been lodged against him by the actress, but the police cannot investigate or arrest anyone in such cases without the direction of the court.

Yukta Mookhey was crowned the Miss Universe in the year 1999 at the Olympia THeater in London. She was 20 years old then. After a short stint in Bollywood, she chose to withdraw herself from the same.

Tuli, on the other hand owns a business empire in Central India that deals with logistics, hotels, education, malls, and construction equipment.
