In Pics: Lord Ram campaigns for votes on a hot day
Bangalore, April 19: Lord Ram is now in election mode! Ram Navami today has come handy for political parties in blending the festival with campaign.
In Bangalore today, there are more pandals and corner tables giving out cool lemon or mango drink and prasad, than anytime in the last few years.
The reason is nothing to do with saffron party (BJP) government. It is also not because people have turned to the god in the difficult times or that summer is really hot. It is all because of elections and votes.
There are no posters or banners but politics is being whispered in the name of Lord Ram. The public at the cool drink pandal know who is the person behind the prasad and if one is ignorant, they are told.
The political workers on door to door campaign were directing people to the pandals or corner tables since early morning on Friday, and with good results.
