Juventus had the upperhand in this return leg tie as they had an unassailable three-goal lead from the first leg. The Hoops hopes ended when Matri opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Quagliarella made it to in the 65th minute.
The only positive sign for Celtic in this European campaign was they got passed the qualifiers before beating Barcelona at Celtic Park and finished second in Group G above Spartak Moscow and Benfica.
