Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam
Chennai, Feb 28: It seems that controversy is yet to leave Kamal Haasan's film - Vishwaroopam. The movie once again has made headlines with Madras High Court latest decision on terminating a petition raised over security to cinema theatres in Tamil Nadu.

The high court on Wednesday, Feb 27 disposed the petition which had sought protection for the theatres which screen Haasan's controversial movie.

Dismissing the petition, Justice KK Sasidharan reiterated the state government's statement that practically it was impossible to provide security to all cinema halls in the state citing the present strength of the Police force.

"It is not necessary to direct Police to consider the representation now," said the judge. However, he also claimed that the petitioner was "justified in submitting the representation to the Police for protection at that point of time (when the government imposed a ban on the film)."

Following the ban on Vishwaroopam in Tamil Nadu, C Ezhilarasu had moved the court criticising the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's government's decision of banning the movie despite the green nod from the Censor Board.

Some Muslims groups had raised objections against the screening of the movie. Hence, the ban was imposed on Vishwaroopam causing several protests by Haasan's fans and followers, especially in Tamil Nadu.

However, Vishwaroopam finally got released in the state when both Haasan and the protesting groups had reached to some mutual understanding of deleting few objectionable scenes of the movie.
