Delhi Airport
New Delhi, Feb 26: In the wake of twin bomb blasts at Hyderabad on Thursday, security forces seem to be extra alert, especially in the national capital. And taking advantage of the situation, few pranksters are taking police on a ride.

Media reports say Delhi police control room on Tuesday, Feb 26 received a call around 11.57 am, saying a bomb was planted on Indigo flight number 6E-178. The flight was supposed to depart at 1250 hours from Terminal 1D of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) domestic airport.

Delhi police got into action, as a bomb disposal squad was immediately sent to IGI. However, they could not find any explosive devices. Unfortunately, the bomb scare and subsequent security measures delayed the flight.

Passengers on the Delhi-Patna flight were de-boarded and their luggage taken off the aircraft following the call.

Police have called the incident a hoax. Police sources say the call has been traced. The call was reportedly made by one Padmavat. The caller made the call, as he wanted to delay the flight. He made the call from Delhi Cantonment area.

In fact, police in the national capital is receiving several bomb hoax calls which are keeping it on toes.

Bomb blasts in Hyderabad killed 16 people and injured around 120. Major cities across the country are on alert and security has been beefed up to thwart any terror attacks.
