Shahrukh Khan's silence allows Pak ridicule India
It required country's home secretary to offer explanations. Home Secretary RK Singh on Tuesday said India is quite capable of taking care of the security of its people. Singh further asked Malik to look after the security of Pakistani citizens and not to worry about Shah Rukh Khan.
"We are capable of looking at the security of our own citizens. Let him (Rehman Malik) worry about his own," Singh said.
Rehman Malik created controversy when he requested the Indian Government to provide security to Shah Rukh Khan.
Singh was reacting to Malik's remarks that the Indian government should provide security to Shah Rukh following the actor's remarks about the problems purportedly faced by Indian Muslims.
In a first person account published in a magazine, Shah Rukh Khan speaks about how he became an "inadvertent object of political leaders".
Shah Rukh Khan writes, "I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India."
"There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighbouring nation rather than my own country- this even though I am an Indian, whose father fought for the freedom of India. Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return what they refer to my original homeland," Shah Rukh Khan adds.
Shahrukh Khan is generalising too much. Those who needled him had their own agenda and do not represent India which has give the actor fame and fortune. And, the actor know this but still chose to talk about being Muslim.
Like twitter message (from Amit TM @AmitK2K) said "Shah Rukh Khan it takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently".
It is time King Khan comes out in public and clarifies his real intent. He should not allow himself to be used by people or the countries.
Some of twitter comments:
Aditya Choudhary (@nowwinaditya): Don't embarrass yourself & the nation which made you who you are by calling yourself a victim!Have some shame.
karina Sood (@karinasood): Now that Shah Rukh Khan is wayyy past his prime, he is playing the victim card to enter politics in 2014. How predictable!!! Yawwwwwnnnn
