New Delhi, Oct 22: Fasih Mohammad, an accused in both the 2010 Bangalore and Delhi blasts, is currently being questioned by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police.

The 28-year-old native of Bihar was deported from Saudi Arabia and arrested on his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.

Karnataka Police had issued a lookout notice for Fasih in connection with the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore. The Delhi Police were also looking for the Indian Mujahideen member as he was involved in the shooting incident near the Jama Masjid here in 2010.

Earlier this year, Fasih's wife Nikhat Parveen told the Supreme Court that he was picked up from their home in Saudi Arabia on May 13 and since then there has been no news of him.

She said that a joint team of Saudi and Indian intelligence officials had detained Fasih as they considered him to be the main suspect in some terror cases. Nikhat claimed that Fasih was in the custody of central intelligence agencies but they denied this.

In Jun, India requested Saudi Arabia to extradite him but the lack of an extradition treaty between the two countries proved to be the hitch. Then the Central Bureau of Investigation asked Interpol to issue a Red Corner notice against him.

Incidentally, Saudi Arabia deported another terrorist Abu Jundal in Jun. The key 26/11 handler has provided vital information about how Pakistan's Directorate of Inter Services Intelligence and the Lashkar-e-Taiba masterminded the Mumbai terror attacks which claimed as many as 166 lives.

Jundal was the person who taught Hindi to 26/11 convict Ajmal Kasab and his nine associates. From the Karachi control room, he gave them directions as the 10 terrorists made their way through India's financial capital in the last week of Nov 2008.

Mumbai police confronted Jundal with Kasab on Aug 9, 2012. They wanted to see if the latter would identify the former. During the face-to-face, Kasab admitted that Jundal was one of the conspirators responsible for 26/11.
