Amsterdam, Oct 4: Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a sensational hat-trick against Dutch giants Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena. The Dutch side continued their poor form against the Spanish giants losing 4-1 at home. Nikolas Mosainder pulled one back for the hosts but Los Blancos were on top of their game.

Arsenal came out with a comfortable home victory over Greek champions Olympiakos. The Gunners won 3-1 at the Emirates stadium to inch closer to the knockout stages thanks to goals from Gervinho, Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey.

Porto beat French giants Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 claiming six points to go on top of Group A. PSG were pushed back by the dominant Portuguese till the 83rd minute when James Rodriguez scored the only goal in Porto.

Super sub Mario Balotelli helped Manchester City survive from the clutches of defeat after scoring an injury-time penalty. The controversial decision was given when Neven Subotic handled Sergio Aguero's shot in the box. Marco Reus scored the opener for Borussia Dortmund as the match ended 1-1 at the Etihad.

Eliseu scored twice as Malaga continued their impressive run in the Champions League beating Anderlecth 3-0. Former Spain international Joaquin scored a penalty after Nacho Monreal was brought down in the box.

Oleg Gusev scored an early goal for Dynamo Kiev before Josip Pivaric scored an own goal to beat Croatian outfit Dynamo Zagreb 2-0.

German side Schalke were restricted to a 2-2 draw at home against French side Montpellier. Karim Ait Fana gave the visitors an early lead but goals from Julian Draxler and Klass Jan Huntelaar seemed enough to earn Schalke all three points. However, during injury-time, Souleymane Camara equalised to dent the host three points.

Zenit St Petersburg fell to a 2-3 defeat against AC Milan. Urby Emanuelson and Stephen El Shaarawy gave the Italians an early lead before Hulk and Roman Shirokov levelled the score. An own goal from Tomas Hubocan decided the winner in the 75th minute but Milan were saved mainly after goalkeeper Cristian Abbiati made brilliant saves to deny the Russian side.
