Chennai, Sept 29: Aarthi Rao, an NRI woman, accused Nithyananda of sending his aides to harass her and her family members in Chennai. The woman claimed that a group of unidentified men has been harassing and threatening them.

Seeking special police protection, Aarthi Rao lodged a complaint against the self-styled god. According to Mrs Rao, Nithyananda has been trying to kill her as she was supposed to attend a court hearing in the city on Saturday, Sept 29. The case would decide Nithyananda's fate regarding a rape case.

After lodging police complaint, Mrs Rao was quoted as saying, "An unidentified man was found lurking near my father's car parked outside the house. I don't think anyone but Nithyananda would try to threaten me as I am scheduled to attend a court hearing in Ram Nagar court, Karnataka, on Saturday and suspect his involvement."

Mrs Rao along with her husband had joined Nithyananda's ashram in the US and later they had visited his ashram in Bangalore where she allegedly had been raped by Nithyananda. Following the incident, Mrs Rao had lodged a complaint against the controversial self-styled godman.

Here it can be recalled that Nithyananda too had filed a counter-complaint against Mrs Rao saying that she had played a crucial role in leaking the video which allegedly caught Nithyananda and one South Indian actress in a compromising position.
