New Delhi, Apr 15: After the arrest of Jadavpur University Professor Ambikesh Mohapatra over anti-Mamata toons, Former Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi on Saturday, Apr 14 said that "I feel cartoons are integral part of healthy democracy."

"Cartoons cannot destroy your image. It is the people who make your image and it is they who destroy it," Trivedi said.

The cartoon depicted Trivedi along with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and his predecessor Mukul Roy, exchanging dialogues from a popular Bengali film Sonar Kella directed by Satyajit Ray.

"Only thing is a cartoon should be healthy and it should not be in bad culture," Trivedi added. Trivedi was booted out from the Union Cabinet Ministry after he announced hike in train fare in the rail budget 2012.
