Disgusted with Stalin-Alagiri rift, DMK chief seeks Karuna
According to media sources, during the party's core meeting, Karunanidhi was shocked after citing Stalin's supporters' demand to make Stalin the next chief of DMK.
The fact that Karunanidhi is set to retire from the helm of affairs of DMK has caused tensions among Alagiri and Stalin supporters.
With Stalin supporters harping that he made the next party chief, Alagiri's supporters wants the very same for their leader.
However, Karunanidhi commented on this issue, "There was no discussion on who the next leader would be. The next leader would be decided by the leaders of the party who are elected by party elections. It'll approximately take one year for that to be decided."
