India's security at stake; Armymen can't use Facebook, Orkut
Indian army's decision indicates that the defence force does not want to take any chance of its own men (both officers and persons of other ranks) posting or leaking any sort of information through such social networking sites.
Army sources informed that they had asked its men not to post any sensitive information on social networking sites and not to reveal any information neither in front of their family nor to their friends.
However, this time the army issued serious notice warning the officials to obey the order. A source from the army has been quoted as saying, "Despite the orders, if any officer or soldier is found violating them, strict action will be taken."
Here it can be mentioned that the latest orders will be issued on all 36,000 officers and other personnel of the 1.13 million-strong force. The officials have been warned not to use social networking sites, not even with the proxy of their family members.
