Mumbai, Jan 25: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray is at it again by channeling his anger at North Indians. This time around he has stated that Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is the “centre of terrorism“.

Speaking in the aftermath of the Maharashtra ATS cracking the Mumbai blast case, Thackerary said that terrorists receive training in states like UP and Bihar then carry out attacks in Mumbai. He was quoted as saying to reporters, "I have been saying that due to influx of north Indians, terror activities are on the rise. The arrest of terrorists hailing from Bihar yesterday, in the 13/7 serial blasts case, has confirmed my claim."

He added, "The Bihar connection in 13/7 case has been exposed. Will someone pay attention towards it or not? I don't know why a fuss is made over my statements."

The two terrorists arrested for their role in the 13/7 blasts hailed from Darbhanga in Bihar.

Thackerary was quick to irk other politicos, when Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi launched his tirade against the MNS leader accusing him of politicizing the issue. He said, "Terrorists shouldn't be related to any region or religion. Raj Thackeray is politicising the issue in view of the upcoming civic elections."

Azmi also requested the government to gag Tahckerary from making such statements and stated that leaders from North India like Jayaprakash Narayan and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had fought in India's freedom struggle. He said, "North Indians have fought in the freedom struggle. They should live here (in Mumbai) with pride."

Thackeray's ire at the North Indians is infamous now with his past statement that asked all North Indians living in Mumbai and other areas of Maharashtra to go back to their state of origin.
