Ratan Tata upset, Nano no more a 'poor man's car'!
Mr Tata, however, claimed that their original tag line for the smallest car was - an affordable family car and not a poor man's car.
Expressing his belief on the tagline given by the company while launching Nano, Tata said, "The launches of similar small cars by others vindicate our belief that this segment was missing in the product line."
Talking about the price rate of Nano and other plans of Tata Motors, Mr Tata also informed, "not much in competition with others as far as pricing of it is concerned."
However, Mr Tata rejected to accept that Nano was a "flop" project launched by the Tatas. Informing about their next step to rejig the car's position in the country, Mr Tata stated, "Current upgrade should help resolve the problem... upgrade will resolve issue relating to problematic supply from vendors. Upgrade will also resolve the earlier issues and also take in customer feedback. We will look at variants of models to move up the value chain."
Meanwhile, Mr Tata also hinted that the company may resume its function in West Bengal if they receive green signal from the state government. Citing his statement, many started asking - will Mamata Banerjee invite the Tatas?
