MiG 29 crashes in Himachal Pradesh
Search and rescue teams have rushed to the spot with the efforts facing obstacles considering the treacherous mountain terrain. There are also no official confirmation on the number of people on board the aircraft that is believed to have crashed on Tuesday night.
Superintendent of Police, Bimal Gupta has been quoted as saying, "A communication was received from the IAF at around 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday that a MiG 29 has crashed. A team of rescue workers has reached Chokhan village from where they have started trudging up the mountains to reach the accident spot. We are awaiting the arrival of the IAF teams. The accident spot is quite treacherous and inaccessible. IAF choppers are likely to be deployed to reach the spot."
Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Shankar said, "We have no information about the number of people on board the aircraft."
