Bokaro: Nursery kid raped by middle-aged man

Bokaro, Jul 20: An inhumane incident came into light on Tuesday, Jul 19 when a five-year-old nursery kid was brought to the Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) for treatment. The child was raped by an unidentified sexually-obsessed middle-aged man, while she was returning back home from school last week.

The kid's parents did not lodge a complaint fearing social stigma. The child is a nursery student of a Public school in Bokaro. The incident happened near the Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Park in Sector IV.

"Family members did not report it to police fearing social stigma. But when the girl's health did not improve, she was brought to the BGH for treatment on Tuesday and the doctors informed police," an officer of Sector-IV police station said.

Officer in charge of Sector-IV police station, Akhil Ahmed said an FIR under Section 376 of IPC had been lodged. He said that the accused picked up the girl in front of the BGH. "The girl, who is in deep shock was taken behind the bushes outside the park and was tortured. She said she had not seen the person before," said Ahmed.
